Episode 1 : The Brave and The Bold

Welcome to Episode 1 : The Brave and The Bold

This is the first episode of Task Force X.

The HeadCast can be downloaded from here:
Episode 1: The Brave and The Bold

This episode I introduce you to myself and give you a little background on my comic love.

I then introduce you to Task Force X.  It's made up of two teams.  The Suicide Squad and Checkmate.
This show will cover the John Ostrander's Suicide Squad from the late 80's and the sister title, Checkmate from the same time period.

I then complain about the new CWized version of Amanda Waller.

Here is Amanda before and then after the New 52:

Pre New 52 Amanda Waller taking on Batman

Post New 52 "CWed" Amanda Waller

As I state in my HeadCast, I prefer the old Amanda Waller.

This episode I cover The Brave and The Bold 25-27.
This team is composed of Rick Flag, Jr., Jess Bright, Dr Hugh Evans, and Karin Grace.

The right side shows the original Squad that is shown in these issues of The Brave and The Bold. The left side shows the reincarnated Ostrander Suicide Squad.

As we hear every issue, Karin is in love with Rick Flag, while the whole team is in love with Karin Grace.  For the good of the team, Karin and Rick can't be together.

  1. i'm not into the WW II era of The Squad but i thought the commentary before and after that part of the podcast was fairly interesting. i've listened to other podcasts in the past that covered old back issues from a series i've read and in general i find that to be entertaining to a point.
now here's what i think would be a great podcast because it deals with something that's new and pretty much all the talk of the town for Suicide Squad fans, Batman: Assault on Arkham. see i, rather you watch it digitally or go pick up at the nearest Big Box Mart store i found it yesterday at Target for a measly $13.

  2. Yeah, I couldn't get in to that era of the Squad either... that's why I've decided on holding off on reviewing the other three issues.

I've got it digitally... I plan on watching it and reviewing it next podcast.

Stay tuned and let me know what you think.

    And thanks for the comments.
